Yelp announced new AI tools on Oct. 20, 2026, including a $30-a-month service designed to respond to prospective customers and qualify their requests. The planned November rollout gives eligible local service businesses another option for managing inquiries before an employee takes over.
In its fall product announcement, Yelp said Smart Lead Reply will use business-account and listing information to answer questions and gather project details after a consumer submits a Request a Quote inquiry.
Lead handling connects with scheduling
Yelp says businesses can customize the tool’s services, questions and conversation preferences. It can share a scheduling link after qualifying a lead, while logging the exchange in the business’s Yelp inbox for review.
The company also announced booking connections with ServiceTitan and Housecall Pro, plus lead-management integrations with Jobber and Workiz. Localogy’s coverage places those changes within a broader push to automate work for small businesses.
Restaurant calling is still ahead
Yelp’s separate Check for Me feature is intended to call restaurants for current wait times and text the answer to diners. The company’s original announcement says it will roll out in coming months on eligible U.S. restaurant pages and Yelp Assistant on iOS—not that it is already available everywhere.
For operators, the business test is whether automated intake produces useful appointments without creating more correction work. The announcement establishes product plans and pricing, not independently measured gains in bookings, revenue or staff productivity.
