Verisign reported third-quarter revenue of $443 million on Oct. 22, 2026, up 5.7% from a year earlier, as its .com and .net domain-name base expanded. The results provide a current operating measure for a supplier of core internet infrastructure.
The company’s earnings release puts the combined registration base at 182.5 million, up 6.1% year over year. It reported a net increase of 3.36 million names during the quarter.
Registration growth and financial results
Verisign processed 13.1 million new .com and .net registrations, compared with 10.6 million a year earlier. Those additions are different from the net change in the overall base, which also reflects names leaving it.
Operating income was approximately $296 million, compared with $284 million a year earlier. Net income was $213 million in both periods, while diluted earnings per share increased to $2.35 from $2.27.
Context from the previous quarter
The second-quarter release reported revenue of $435 million, up 6% year over year, and a registration base of 179.1 million. It recorded 12.7 million new registrations during that quarter.
The figures show a larger registration base alongside continued revenue growth. They do not by themselves measure how much business individual websites conduct, the quality of those sites or the number of active merchants online.
Verisign operates the .com and .net registries, an infrastructure role distinct from running the businesses that use those domains. For executives reading the update, registry activity and customer commerce should remain separate measures. This report describes operating results and does not offer investment advice.
