The RealReal reported Oct. 29, 2026, that third-quarter revenue rose 19% to $206 million and raised its full-year outlook, offering retail and brand executives a new measure of activity in the luxury resale market.

This Rapid News Brief covers the quarter ended Sept. 30. Gross merchandise value, the value of goods moving through the marketplace, rose 23% to about $642 million. That is distinct from revenue recognized by the company and should not be added to it.

Orders and buyers support growth

The company said orders increased 15% from a year earlier, its strongest quarterly order growth since 2022. Average order value increased 8% to $629, while trailing 12-month active buyers rose 13% to approximately 1.15 million.

The periods matter: the active-buyer figure covers a rolling year, while revenue and orders describe the quarter. Together, they provide more detail than a revenue growth rate alone, without proving that every buyer increased spending.

Investing.com reported that revenue exceeded the $196.78 million analyst estimate. Its coverage also described the raised outlook and growth in orders, but a result above expectations is not itself a forecast for the next quarter.

Profit includes a noncash effect

The RealReal reported net income of about $16 million, compared with a loss of about $54 million a year earlier. The company said the latest profit included a $21.2 million noncash adjustment related to the fair value of a warrant liability.

That disclosure limits what the headline profit says about everyday trading. It should not be read as though all reported net income came from selling and processing more merchandise.

Adjusted EBITDA was $17 million, or 8.3% of revenue, compared with $9.3 million and 5.4% a year earlier. This is a non-GAAP measure, not a substitute for net income or cash flow.

The holiday-quarter outlook

For the fourth quarter, the company forecast revenue of $218 million to $222 million and merchandise value of $720 million to $735 million. Its full-year revenue outlook is $806 million to $810 million.

Those ranges are management expectations as of Oct. 29, not completed sales. For businesses monitoring resale competition, the useful distinction is between growing marketplace activity and the revenue and profit retained by the operator.
