MS NOW expanded its paid membership to connected televisions Nov. 2, 2026, giving direct subscribers another way to watch the live channel without buying a cable package. The rollout extends the network’s consumer subscription business from web and mobile viewing to the living-room screen.

This Rapid News Brief covers the distribution change and the distinction between features available now and additions scheduled for later.

Live television without the cable bundle

According to Versant’s announcement, membership access now includes Roku, Apple TV, Samsung, Google TV and Amazon Fire TV. Members can watch the continuous linear channel and full program episodes on demand.

The membership costs $7.99 monthly or $79.99 annually. Versant is offering new members a 30% discount on the first year of an annual membership through Nov. 17 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern. That is an introductory annual offer, not a permanent reduction in the listed subscription price.

Participating television-provider credentials remain another way to sign in through the MS NOW app. TheWrap reported that connected-TV apps previously supported eligible pay-TV customers; the change expands live access to people paying MS NOW directly. It is not the first existence of those television apps.

The membership is not identical on every screen

Versant says member-exclusive series, twice-daily journalist Q&As and live events will reach connected TVs in the first quarter of 2027. Those additions should not be treated as part of the television experience already delivered by this rollout.

The network’s Sept. 9 launch introduced the direct membership through mobile apps and the web, with a community, curated briefings and other programming. The earlier launch and the latest device expansion are separate stages of the same service.

For the media business, the practical change is the distribution route: a customer can pay the network directly and watch its live schedule on a television. The sources reviewed do not establish how many additional subscribers the expansion will produce or whether those customers will remain after the introductory period.
