Weave Communications said Oct. 26, 2026, that Francisco Partners completed its approximately $650 million cash acquisition, taking the patient-communications and payments software company private and ending its New York Stock Exchange listing.

The transaction provides $7.40 in cash for each share under the merger agreement. The completed sale follows the agreement announced Aug. 18, rather than a newly negotiated acquisition price.

Ownership changes, business continues

Weave will retain its name and headquarters in Lehi, Utah, according to the closing announcement. Chief Executive Brett White said more than 40,000 locations use its communications and engagement tools.

The platform serves healthcare practices, but the transaction concerns the software supplier’s ownership, not a change to clinical treatment or evidence of improved patient outcomes.

Product investment remains the stated goal

In the original deal announcement, White described plans to invest in AI, payments and revenue-cycle capabilities. Francisco Partners reiterated its interest in product development when announcing the closing.

Those investment ambitions should be distinguished from completed product releases or measured customer benefits. The closing establishes the new ownership structure; it does not itself demonstrate service improvements.

For practice operators, the relevant next developments are specific product changes and service commitments from their supplier. Today’s confirmed milestone is the completed transaction and transition from public to private ownership.
