Chime raised its 2026 revenue outlook Nov. 4 after reporting 32% third-quarter revenue growth, with its platform-related business expanding faster than payments.
The financial technology company reported revenue of $718 million for the quarter ended Sept. 30, up from $543.5 million a year earlier. Net income under generally accepted accounting principles was $43.7 million, compared with a $54.7 million loss.
Platform revenue grows faster than payments
Payments revenue rose 22% to $444 million. Platform-related revenue increased 52% to $274 million, which Chime attributed to the expansion of MyPay and Instant Loans.
Active members rose 20% to 10.9 million. Chime defines an active member as someone who initiated a money-movement transaction during the last calendar month of the reporting period.
Purchase volume increased 19% to $38.5 billion. Including outbound instant transfers, volume rose 22% to $40 billion. Reuters also reported the transfer-inclusive figure; it is distinct from the company’s narrower purchase-volume measure.
A higher full-year outlook
Chime now expects 2026 revenue of $2.792 billion to $2.802 billion, representing 28% growth. Its fourth-quarter revenue forecast is $757 million to $767 million. These are management projections, not reported results.
The company reported average revenue per active member of $270, up 10%. That metric annualizes quarterly revenue; it does not mean each active member generated $270 during the quarter.
