Conductor announced Nov. 4 that it is joining Meta and will shut down Conductor Cloud on Nov. 20, giving users of the AI coding service a deadline to preserve their work before data deletion begins.

New users can no longer register or download the app. Existing Pro users retain paid features free of charge, but free users cannot upgrade, according to Conductor.

Two deadlines for cloud users

Cloud workspaces become read-only Nov. 13: users can read old chats and export data but cannot send new messages. Conductor said active subscribers would receive refunds.

Conductor Cloud closes Nov. 20, when the company says deletion of cloud user data begins.

The company asks users to export beforehand. Its notice explains how to move cloud workspaces and chats to a Mac or download an account archive.

Local software has a separate timetable

Local software keeps receiving new models and critical fixes until early 2027, when winding down begins. Conductor has not set an exact local shutdown date or a firm next-product launch date.

The distinction matters because the two versions run differently. Conductor’s documentation says cloud sessions operate in managed sandboxes and can continue when the app is closed. Local sessions run on the user’s Mac and end when the app or computer shuts down.

The documentation says cloud chats are stored on Conductor’s servers. For local use, it says messages go directly to the coding-model provider and session data stays on the user’s device. Those are company descriptions, not an independent privacy audit.

Conductor announced a $22 million Series A in March, with Matrix and Spark among its investors. Its software organizes isolated copies of a codebase so developers can run coding agents in parallel, then review and merge their work.

That financing predates the Meta announcement and is not a disclosed deal price.
