NextNow is an independent publication covering the technologies, companies, industries and ideas shaping what comes next. These standards protect accuracy, independence, transparency and reader trust across news, analysis, opinion and contributed work.

Accuracy and verification
Accuracy comes before speed. Factual claims should be supported by reliable evidence and verified in proportion to their significance. Whenever possible, NextNow relies on primary documents, direct statements, public filings, official data, original research, recordings and on-the-record sources.
Direct quotations must be traceable to a recording, transcript, written communication or contemporaneous notes. We do not knowingly publish fabricated quotations, invented sourcing or material presented as fact that we cannot substantiate.
Breaking stories may develop after publication. We update material facts as they change and add a visible update or correction note when the change would help readers understand how the story evolved.
Sourcing, attribution and interviews
NextNow identifies sources whenever possible and links directly to primary reports, research, filings and other source material when it is useful to readers. Reporting first published by another news organization is clearly attributed; we do not present another outlet’s original reporting as our own.
Interviews are on the record unless a different arrangement is agreed before the interview. We identify a source’s relevant role, organization and conflicts when those details help readers assess the information. Interviewees may clarify factual details, but sources do not receive approval over a completed independent article.
Anonymous sourcing is reserved for circumstances in which the information is newsworthy, the source is in a position to know it and there is a legitimate reason the source cannot be identified publicly. Anonymous-source reporting receives additional editorial scrutiny and is not eligible for unattended automatic publication.
News, analysis, opinion and contributed work
News coverage reports material facts fairly and with appropriate context. Analysis may draw conclusions from reported facts, research, data and industry developments, but those conclusions must be supported by evidence and clearly presented as analysis. Opinion and contributed commentary reflect the perspective of the named author and are labeled accordingly.
Headlines, decks, images and social copy must accurately reflect the underlying article. We do not intentionally use misleading presentation to manufacture urgency, certainty or outrage.
Corrections, updates and removals
We correct substantive factual errors promptly when they are identified. Corrections that materially affect a reader’s understanding are disclosed on the story. Minor typographical, grammatical or formatting changes that do not alter meaning may be corrected without a formal note.
When new reporting materially changes or expands an article, NextNow may add an update label or editor’s note. Removal is rare and considered only when continued publication creates a substantial legal, safety, privacy or accuracy problem that cannot be resolved through correction or clarification. Conflicts of interest and disclosures
Writers, editors and contributors should disclose financial, professional or personal relationships that could reasonably affect a reader’s understanding of their work. NextNow may publish work by founders, executives, investors, advisers and other industry participants when their experience provides useful perspective; material relationships should be disclosed.
Editorial judgment must not be influenced by personal relationships, prospective business opportunities or outside commercial interests.
Advertising, sponsorships and affiliate relationships
Advertising and sponsored content are separate from independent editorial coverage. Paid partnerships must be clearly labeled. Advertisers, sponsors and business partners do not receive the right to approve or suppress independent editorial coverage, and a commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage.

AI-assisted and automated editorial workflows
NextNow may use AI-assisted tools for research organization, transcription, document review, data processing, editing, formatting, headline development, monitoring and other production tasks. AI is not treated as an independent source or represented as a human reporter. Factual assertions surfaced or generated by AI require verification against reliable sources before publication; fabricated quotations, citations and sourcing are prohibited.
Automated breaking-news publishing is limited to stories that pass NextNow’s sourcing, duplication, image-rights, metadata and confidence checks. Articles that do not pass every required gate remain unpublished for review. The byline and publication remain accountable for the final work. Images and visual material
NextNow uses original photography, licensed editorial images, appropriately credited stock photography, official media assets whose terms permit editorial reuse, public-domain material, charts and narrowly justified fair-use images. Credits, source information and license or fair-use records are maintained when required.
Illustrative and file photographs should be identified when context could otherwise imply that they depict the reported event. We do not knowingly present a synthetic image as documentary photography. AI-generated or materially AI-altered visuals that could be mistaken for a real person, place or event must be clearly disclosed.
Research, data and studies
Claims based on studies, surveys and data sets should identify the source and, when material, relevant limitations such as sample size, methodology, sponsorship or peer-review status. Correlation is not described as causation without supporting evidence, and preliminary research is identified when that status affects interpretation.
Privacy and sensitive information
We weigh the public interest before publishing private or sensitive personal information. The fact that information can be found online does not automatically make it necessary to include. We take particular care with minors, victims, private individuals and people who have not voluntarily entered a public controversy.

Readers may question an article, challenge a fact or provide supporting documentation by writing to news@nextnow.io. NextNow evaluates the evidence and publishes a correction, clarification, update or editor’s note when warranted.
Independence
NextNow’s credibility depends on readers being able to distinguish reporting from promotion and evidence from assertion. Our goal is not to appear neutral about facts. It is to be rigorous about how we establish them, transparent about what we know and do not know, and independent in the conclusions we publish.
