Colgate-Palmolive reported higher third-quarter sales on Oct. 30, 2026, and narrowed its annual sales growth forecast, giving consumer-brand leaders a fresh comparison of revenue growth, advertising investment and regional demand.

Rapid News Brief — Net sales rose 4.6% to $5.369 billion. Organic sales increased 3.6%, while diluted earnings were 94 cents a share, compared with 91 cents a year earlier, the company said.

A narrower sales range

Colgate now expects annual net sales growth of 4% to 5%, compared with its earlier 2% to 6% range. Investing.com separately reported the narrowed guidance and said quarterly sales exceeded the $5.34 billion Bloomberg consensus it cited.

The revised sales range is narrower, not an increase at both ends: its lower boundary rose and its upper boundary fell. It remains a management forecast rather than a completed full-year result.

Advertising rises alongside uneven regional results

Colgate’s release listed quarterly advertising spending of $775 million, compared with $674 million a year earlier. It continued to forecast higher annual advertising both in dollars and as a percentage of sales.

The company’s regional comparison also showed why the group total should not be treated as a uniform picture of consumer demand. North American organic sales fell 1.6%, while Latin American organic sales increased 6%. Hill’s Pet Nutrition posted 5.7% organic growth.

Those disclosures establish spending and sales outcomes, not the return on an individual campaign. The results do not isolate how much revenue any particular advertisement generated.

For marketing executives, the practical distinction is between company-wide financial performance and evidence about a specific commercial intervention. A larger advertising budget can coexist with growth in some businesses and declines in others. The regional figures provide context for evaluating that pattern without proving a single cause.

The annual outlook should likewise remain separate from the reported quarter. It describes management’s expectations for the full year, while the quarterly financial tables describe results already recorded.
