Salesforce signed an agreement Oct. 29, 2026, to acquire Rune Technologies, adding military logistics software to its proposed expansion of Missionforce. The transaction would take the business software company further into operational systems designed for users without dependable network access.

Financial terms were not immediately disclosed, Reuters reported. The companies have not completed the acquisition. Salesforce expects closing in the fourth quarter of its fiscal 2027, subject to customary conditions.

Software beyond a reliable connection

Salesforce describes Rune’s software as combining enterprise records with operational information to support supply forecasting and resource planning. It says the technology can function with limited connectivity and synchronize information after a network connection returns.

The company said Rune’s technology is already deployed with the U.S. Army and Marine Corps. Those deployment and performance descriptions are Salesforce’s claims, not independently verified assessments of the software’s effectiveness.

A wider defense business

Reuters placed the agreement within Salesforce’s broader acquisition strategy as it expands its artificial intelligence offerings. The company has also pursued marketing software, AI agents and data management through deals.

For defense customers, the proposed combination concerns the connection between field logistics and enterprise workflows. An announced acquisition does not establish that the products are already integrated or that customers can immediately use a combined service.

The closing timetable is expressed in Salesforce’s fiscal calendar, not calendar-year 2027. Until closing, the announcement remains a proposed transaction rather than a completed addition to Salesforce’s portfolio.
